Foodie: Sisig Tofu

Hello Pretties!

How's your week? I can say that we survived the almost 2 weeks of being just me and Bianca at home. It is actually hard to be a "single parent" I am more cautious and afraid that Bianca will get sick, and everytime we go out I am very paranoid that she will get viruses especially in a common play area. My husband will come home in two days and I should be busy cleaning all the clutters that we had for the past days hehehe (hirap maglinis kasi talaga pag may clingy baby) and also I want to prepare food for him ( wow nagpapaka domesticated wife hahaha)

Anyways, let's go back to the main topic hehhee, I just want to share this tofu sisig recipe, I am sure that there are many recipes shared in the internet and my sharing here is also my way of documenting it. When we were in the Philippines this was my instant favorite actually it's the whole family's favorite, I always order this in Max's restaurant and eventually we did it at home to try how we can make it here in Norway.

So here it is:

Ingredients:

Tofu
Oyster Sauce
Butter
Mayonnaise
Paprika
Siling haba green
Garlic
Sugar
Water

Here's how:

Cut the tofu into cubes and fry it, then set aside.
Saute garlic in butter, then put the paprika and sliced siling haba, add salt and pepper then oyster sauce.
Put a little water and let it simmer.
If the sauce is thick put the mayonnaise.
Put the fried tofu and mix them well.

Ang sarap nito mga beshies! pramis!

Another tip pala sa mga magbabalikbayan, must try ang Kuya J's ube halo halo, pramis isa pa ito sa masarap. =)

Foodie: Easy Peasy Pandesal

Hi pretties,

Pandesal is always present on our table back home, kahit yung left over sa morning masarap pa ding meryenda, isasawsaw lang sa kapeng barako ok na. =)
I was encouraged to make our own pandesal by my friend May, she introduced to me this wonder machine in making pandesal, just put all the ingredients and the bread machine will mix them well and make it into dough.

Here's the ingredients:

1 cup luke warm water
1 pack yeast or 12g yeast
2 eggs
3/4 milk
1 cup sugar
1 kilo flour
salt
bread crumbs

Put them all together in the bread machine, after1.5 hours or so you have a good dough. Form your dough in a cylindrical shape and cut it in your desired size and roll it in bread crumbs. Let it rise for 30 minutes. Baked them in your oven for 10-12 minutes in 170 degC.

My finished product

Serve it with butter, coffee or tea. It is perfect anytime of the day. For the wives like me, enjoy your afternoon or night catching up with your husband after a tiring work and household chores with pandesal, simple tipid and sweet date!

Have a very nice weekend! God bless us =)
mwahugs!

PS. you can make a spanish bread in the same dough, for last night I made a bread with nutella filling. (sorry no picture).

Foodie: Baked Salmon

I posted here before the cheesy baked salmon recipe, this one is another version  which I think is more affordable and most of the ingredients are available at home.

Ingredients:

salmon fillet
soy sauce
oyster sauce
worcester sauce
lemon or lime
salt
pepper
honey
paprika
garlic
small tomato (optional)
olive oil

Pre-heat the oven.

Place the salmon in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper, put the lemon or lime juice (whichever is available)

Combine the soy sauce, worcester sauce, oyster sauce, honey, pepper and olive oil,  then pour the mixture to the fish.

Put the sliced paprika, crushed garlic, sweet tomato on top of the fish.

Cover the salmon with aluminum foil then baked it for 20 mins at 180 deg C, after 20 mins remove the cover and change your oven setting to the one on which your fan is on and wait for 20 mins, but always check because it tends to dry the sauce, c hubby kasi gusto nya medyo masauce.

here is my finished product. 😊

my share, it is 12 days now without rice, and this meal is my happy meal. I super love this recipe which I cook once a week.

I put some sliced cucumber pampahealthy at pampadami hehehe.

Foodie: Adobong Puti

Hello friendships,

If you are on a diet please stop and don't scroll down, if you decided to continue don't blame me ha, you've been warned :)

I super love adobo yan, my all time favorite kaso mo dahil nagkakaedad na ako e iniiwasan ko na talaga ang pork, minsan after ko kumain sasabihin ko sa sarili ko na di ako nasayahan hihihi,,,
My husband also love my adobo, yung usual with soy sauce, but we have our housemate before who cooked adobong puti,,, ang sarap!!! But it will take a lot of courage for me to cook it because of the prito prito part, ayyyy galit na galit ang mantika, honestly I didn't get the same taste of what my housemate did pero masarap pa din sya, may sauce kasi yung sa housemate ko dati which maybe I need to add more vinegar.

Ingredients:

2 kg pork (i used liempo and some parang pork chop)
vinegar
garlic (i used 2 heads)
salt and pepper
bay leaves
1 cup of water

Seasoned the pork with salt and pepper, add the rest of ingredients. Let it simmer for 1 hour (slow cooking is the secret to make the pork super tender), pagmalambot na ang pork, heat the pan and put olive oil and fry the pork (set aside the sauce), after it turned a little brown pour the sauce and let it simmer for about 15 mins.

Serve and Enjoy! :)

My husband kasi joined yung parang cycling race so we are preparing his body kaya need nya ng protein sa diet nya at medyo kailangan mabawasan ang carbohydrates, di naman talaga kailangan career-in kasi wala namang prize yun pero syempre kailangan safety first, saka para hindi sya mahirapan gaano sa race.

Kaya I prepared this for him =)  (Hon, sulit ang flowers hihihi)

Lemon Chicken with Rosemary and Thyme in Cream  Sauce

Ingredients:

Chicken Fillet
Butter
Salt and Pepper
Lime (or Lemon)

In the same pan, put the marinade juice stir for 1 minute, put some milk (ung dito kasi flote yung tawag parang thick milk parang evaporated milk siguro), let it simmer until medyo thick na yung sauce.

Foodie: Adobong Kangkong at Sitaw with Tofu

Hello sisterets!!!

Just want to share this very simple and budget friendly recipe, it is very easy that I'm sure you already know how to cook this but this post is aiming to help you on planning your weekly menu or if you feel like adding greens on your diet. Summer is fast approaching so let's start to be healthy as early as now, to maintain or to prepare our alindog for that nice colorful two-piece hehehe,,  (still my nth times wish hehehe never say die ika nga ng mga kaBarangay hehehe)

After our recent trip e back to budgeting na naman ako, from Monday to Friday last week e 3 dishes lang naluto ko, good thing is my husband doesn't mind if I will serve the same dish the next day, kaya sinigang, buttered shrimp, at adobong kangkong at sitaw lang ang luto ko, our weekend naman was spent with friends.

oh well, meatless recipe here it is,,,

Adobong Kangkong at Sitaw with Tofu

Kangkong
Sitaw
Tofu
siling haba
soy sauce
vinegar
garlic

Saute garlic in a medium heat pan, add the sliced red chilis (siling haba), cubed tofu, then sitaw (kasi mas madaling maluto ang kangkong), add pepper, soy sauce and vinegar, let it simmer for 10 minutes, put the kangkong and add a little sugar, wait until it is cooked. served it with love :)

since I'm on a budget I replaced the meat with tofu, my husband loved it,,,

This week is another challenge for me, I want kasi to minimize my trips to supermarkets, kaya I want to create a menu from our stored food in the fridge, meaning a zero visit to supermarket week = zero expenses palengke week,,,

Foodie: Halayang Ube

Hi friendships, my husband asked why I didn't blog recently, I told him there's nothing exciting to share and I've mentioned here my daily routine life hihihi,,,

I've been craving for Red Ribbon's ube macapuno cake, it's my favorite,,, I can eat the whole roll in one sitting,,, it's true... no kidding,,, then my bestfriend posted in facebook her housemate's ube halaya, I was salivating for it talaga,, I asked for the recipe and she said the ingredients are so simple if and only if I can find ube here but the stirring part is hard as you need to do it continously,,,
I went to a nearby store and to my delight I found packs of grated ube, and I bought the rest of ingredients, I just added cheese for a twist,,, I just don't have food color and vanilla extract  pero keri na din hehehe,,,

Ingredients:
grated ube
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
cheese
butter

Heat a non-stick pan in a medium heat and melt the butter, put the condensed milk and add the cheese , mix it thoroughly, then pour the grated ube and change the heat into low, (make it sure na di hilaw ung grated ube, dapat pala kasi pinakulo ko muna to save me sa mas lalong paghalo hehehe) continue mixing them together until it looks sticky then add the evaporated milk and sugar (depends on how sweet you want it to be) stir continously until you attained the desired texture.

I purposely bought extra milk just in case I need more.

I love how it turned out,,, much much better from halaya ube na molded as fish pag fiesta sa amin na iniiyakan ko pag naubos hehehe,,,

Happy weekend everyone!!! God bless us. :)

Foodie: Inspired by Gising Gising

Hello,,, food post naman, actually ang dami ko sana gustong ishare na recipe, not naman original recipe just in case lang bigla available yung ingredients tapos pwedeng pwedeng gawin, just like what happened today, I asked my N@W group for a simple recipe sa gulay, and two of them sugeested gising gising, I asked what is gising gising, ginataan pala yun ng finely chopped na beans, string beans o stalk ng kangkong. Since I only have cauliflower, broccoli and carrots, I was able to cook yung strir fry na mixed na yun and oyster sauce. Hanggang sa naisip ko instead of adding the stalk sa stir fry gawa naman ako ng panibagong menu na inspired ng gising gising, I don't have any other veggies here at ayoko namang lumabas para mamalengke kaya here is the gising gising inspired na stalk ng broccoli with bell pepper.

Ingredients:

Stalk of Broccoli (chopped)
bell pepper
siling haba
dried shrimp
1 can of coconut milk
garlic,salt, pepper, sugar,
oyster sauce, vinegar

Saute the garlic in a medium heat pan, add the siling haba and bell pepper, put the dried shrimp,
then add the chopped stalk of broccoli, mixed it together then add the coconut milk, let it simmer for 5 minutes, then put the pepper, vinegar, oyster sauce and sugar, tantyahan lang mga teh,, pero wagi ito,,, =)

Foodie: Ginataang Salmon

We've been staying up late since Monday, kaya after dinner tonight we found ourselves sleeping in the sala, kaya gising na gising kami ngayon and I have time to post this not so new recipe, alam nyo naman ako basta may coconut milk na ulam masarap for me, sa ulam kasi I like it better yung ma sauce na iga, si mark naman mahilig sya sa mga nilaga at sinigang basta ung may sabaw. No pork policy pa din kami kaya I think of other ways how to cook salmon or fish, kasi before mag fishing si Mark ang almost available lang sa supermarket ay salmon, kaya kungdi fried salmon e sinigang na salmon ang ulam namin. We've been craving pork na pero stick pa din kami sa rule, so instead of bicol express, I cooked this ginataang salmon, kasing sarap pero healthier, o diba diba,, =)

Ingredients:

Salmon cut into small
coconut milk
siling haba
eggplant
salt and pepper
sugar
garlic
vinegar
olive oil/or any cooking oil

How to cook:

First, seasoned the salmon with salt and pepper, fry it (para hindi masyadong malansa) then set aside.
In a new pan, saute the garlic and the chili (siling haba) in olive oil, put the coconut milk and let it boil for a few minutes, add salt and pepper, put the eggplant and let it cook, add the vinegar and sugar ( i like medyo spicy na matamis e) let it simmer until the sauce is thick, now you can add the fried salmon,,, and voila you have a super yummy and healthy easy-peasy meal.

Foodie: Okra Omelette

We still dont eat pork, kaya palagi ko na lang naiimagine ang lechon kawali hahaha,, ang dali lang kasi nung gawin, tapos ang sarap, crispy,,, yum yum,,

I have a couple of friends na hindi kumakain ng okra according to them they dont like the texture yung pagka slimey ng okra, ako nman one of my favorite yan ung nilaga lang tapos sawsaw sa toyo at kamansi super sarap nyan. Kaya for those na ayaw ng slimey okra, here's one thing you can do Tadah Okra Omelette,,,

Ingredients:

butter
cherry tomatoes
Okra/lady finger
egg
olive oil

Slice the okra, with this di nyo mararamdaman ung pagka slimey nya hehehe,, Mix it with butter, egg and tomato. Heat the pan with olive oil, put them all together sa pan, wait until it cooked,, then voila you have a very yummy Okra Omelette.

I usually put cheese whenever I make my omelette but this one we used butter, and another tip is dont scrambled the egg too much, just mix it lang.

That's all,, weekend is getting near,, hooray!!! God bless us all. Mwahugs!!! =)

Foodie: My Creamy and Cheesy Baked Macaroni

Hello everyone!!! (repeat performance to hehehe,, nag error kasi di nasave yung nasulat ko na wah )

I'm very happy as in happyng happy!!! I received a good news last week, I will share it to you all if everything is running smoothly na, and because of that good news I will be a lot busier in  the next 2 months. whew! (kaya ko to)

Ewan ko ba ang hormone ko pag dadating na ang period ko palaging gusto kong kumain, wahehehe,, last week I was craving for pichi pichi and baked macaroni, as in I was desperate na on where I can find it here in Singapore buti na lang I asked my friend Abie, sa Bengawan Solo daw meron, I went there the next day meron nga but mas masarap pa din yung inoorder namin pay may birthday o farewell sa Fluor dati.

Pichi-Pichi checked... now Baked Macaroni naman...

I woke up early today cooked our breakfast tocino and egg, after that I went to the supermarket for the ingredients... took a nap in the afternoon and after dinner I cooked Baked Macaroni na...

Ingredients:

500g elbow macaroni
1/4kg ground beef
Spam Lite (I used half of it lang then sliced in tidbits)
Libby's Corned Beef
1 bottle of Prego Traditional Sauce
2 cans of nestle cream
Quickmelt
olive oil
minced garlic
salt, pepper and sugar to taste

Heat the pan then saute the garlic in olive oil (nasanay na kasi ako sa garlic lang because my husband doesnt like onions wahehehe pero dinadamihan ko ng garlic everytime mag gigisa ako para masarap)

Put the ground beef until maluto sya, then add the tidbits spam and corned beef, mix together.

Add the Prego Traditional Sauce, Stir well, add UFC Tamis Anghang Banana Ketchup, basta tantyahan lang mga ateng,, put small amount of water para lang di sya dry, let it simmer, add pepper, salt and sugar according to your taste, I also add cheese, stir to melt.
If your satisfied na with the sauce, set aside and cook the pasta.

Boil water, oil and salt, put the macaroni and cook for 10 mins. Wash and drain.

Combine the sauce and the pasta na. Then prepare it na sa baking dish.

Put the pasta in a baking dish, half lang ha bale parang first layer, top it with nestle cream then sliced cheese ( I was rushing na kasi and panggitna lang naman sya kaya sliced cheese muna)
parang like this:

as shown in the picture, cover the first layer ng pasta again, top with nestle cream tapos this time grated cheese naman para fully covered ng cheese.
Take note: while layering pala, Pre-heat the oven in 180degC.

Cook the pasta for 10 mins in oven. Tapos na you have na the creamy and cheesy baked macaroni!!!!

Promise ang sarap sarap nya walang biro i didnt expect it to be that good kasi first time ko lang,, maybe next time itatry ko yung may bacon naman,,  basta super successful ito, nadagdagan ang recipe ko na pwede ko ipakain kay hubby. Super creamy and cheesy talaga,, sureness mga ateng winner ang nestle cream and quickmelt!!! =))

Happy Sunday and before I end this post greet ko muna si hubby...

Hon happy 17th!!! love you and miss you so much!!!

Foodie: Sweet and Spicy Squid with Oyster Sauce

Dahil sa im bored and I need to survive, all about cooking ang posts ko ngayon from lunch to dinner, ako na ang chef for today  wahahaha!!!

May pusit ako sa ref, wala akong coconut milk (palagi kasing ginataang pusit ang luto ko) pero may oyster sauce ako saka sweet Thai chili sauce, kaya yun na, super easy peasy menu na ang naganap hehehe.

Ingredients:

squid
garlic
oyster sauce
sweet Thai chili sauce
sugar

my savior for today: oyster and sweet Thai chili sauce

here's how to cook:

1. Magisa ng bawang, tapos ilagay ang squid.

2. Pag medyo luto na ang squid, put the oyster sauce, then sweet Thai chili sauce.

3. Let it simmer, add sugar. (Tantyaan lang to mga ateng)

And voila, may ulam ka na sa dinner hehehe.

Foodie: Buttered Salmon

I super love salmon, e uber mahal naman if kakain ako sa SAKAE SUSHI ulit ng mag isa, the last time that I gave in to my cravings ay wagas $31 sgd lang naman ang bill ko, then yesterday para medyo mura mura naman sa Long John Silver naman ako nag lunch, they have salmon there kaso nasa $9sgd+  yung binayadan ko, kaya after I had lunch yesterday I went straight to Fairprice (grocery store) to buy salmon and it only cost me $3.5 sgd, all smile magluluto na lang ako. Dati kasi medyo madaming procedure yung ginagawa ko, to make sure na wala ng lansa yung salmon, I steamed the salmon with lemon or calamansi juices and salt and papper saka ko pa sya ipa fry sa butter then milk, but now since medyo tamad ang ako I skipped the steam portion.

Kain na tayo! =)

Ingredients:

salmon
salt
pepper
calamansi
butter
Magnolia Hi-Cal Lo-Cal Oat Milk Fresh Milk

How to cook:

1. As I mentioned earlier, I skipped the steam portion, first, seasoned the salmon with salt and pepper plus the extracted calamansi juice.

2. Heat the frying fan and put butter. Fry the salmon.

3. When the salmon is cooked, turn the heat to low and put the Magnolia Hi-Cal Lo-Cal Oat milk Fresh milk, why I used this, accidentally the first time I tried this  I wanted to add sweet e yan lang yung available milk ko sa ref, kaya I experiment to add it, and ang linamlinam nya talaga, but you can try other milk din.

4. Pag medyo thick na yung sauce, ok na sya, ready set go,, eat na tayo.

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!! =)

Foodie: The Patties =)

How's your day beauties? Tomorrow is Wednesday, ilang kembot na lang weekends na naman, yehey!!!

Just finished preparing my packed lunch for tomorrow, how ironic noh, when I was in grade school never akong nagbaon ng food, unless mga biscuit and juice lang, but cooked meal ay hindi, working mother ang inay kaya we were always rushing in the morning, tapos now na im working dun pa ako nagbabaon, im a picky eater din kasi, I'd rather prepare my own food than take a risk from outside food,  tapos crowded pa sa elevator kung kakain pa sa labas, sayang ang oras.

I prepared burger patties, this is my mother's version, one of my favorite sa mga niluluto ng inay, super linamnam nya, nilalagyan kasi ng Inay ng mayonnaise,

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

1/2 ground beef
2 eggs
minced garlic
pepper
salt
flour
and what makes this recipe special ----> mayonnaise

1. Mix all the ingredients, ( gusto ko yung madaming madaming garlic)
2. Add mayonnaise, depende sa panlasa nyo, basta ako tantyahan lang.
3. Then fry, fry na.  =)

The photo may not look good, but promise yumminess ito, tapos easy pa to prepare.

Foodie: Gulay na Mais

Long weekend,, yey!!!! But It's more fun in the Philippines talaga kasi hanggang bukas ang holiday nila.
Yesterday I went to church, at first ang awkward ng feeling ko without Mark beside me until I felt at home na din. After church I went to Orchard pampalipas oras lang,  then I spotted the SALE sign in M)phosis most of their items are 50%-70% off, buti na lang may size ako, nakabili ako ng 1 pants and 1 dress for only 40sgd only, happiness!!!

ang daldal ko talaga, magshashare lang ako ng recipe eh hehehe,, ok game eto na hehehe,,

Presenting our Simple Ulam for today.

Gulay na Mais

Ingredients:

Corn (dapat ung puting mais kaso wala dito nun kaya sweet corn ung nagamit ko)
Lettuce (wala kasing malunggay o dahon ng sili yan lang available sa ref hehhee pero ok pa din)
Garlic
Salt and pepper
water or stock

Ito yung pinakuluan ko na gagamitin kong sabaw para dun sa gulay.

How to cook:

I-scraped and corn, then magpitpit ng bawang.

And VOILA!!!

Tapos nagprito din ako ng Daing na Bangus para perfect,, simple and healthy meal!!!
